# Uptime SLA

> Sevalla's 99.9% uptime guarantee for applications, databases and static sites: what counts as downtime, the daily maintenance window, exclusions, SLA credits and how to claim them.

Sevalla guarantees that your live applications, databases and static sites are available 99.9% of the time in each monthly billing period. The guarantee comes from the [Service Level Agreement](https://kinsta.com/legal/service-level-agreement/) (SLA) of Kinsta Inc., which operates Sevalla. When we miss it, you can claim SLA credits. This page summarizes the SLA, last updated on Sep 25, 2025; the SLA itself is the binding text.

## Uptime guarantee

| Term | What the SLA says |
| - | - |
| Uptime guarantee | 99.9% of each monthly billing period, unless your order form sets a higher percentage |
| Covered services | Live applications: websites, applications and databases in a live environment |
| Downtime | Time when live applications can't be reached over HTTP or other network connections Sevalla provides, measured by Sevalla's monitoring |
| How downtime adds up | By total time, not per service: two services down for the same 10 minutes count as 10 minutes |
| Monthly billing period | From your subscription date to the day before your next billing date, then from each billing date to the day before the next |

## Maintenance period

Sevalla's maintenance period is every day, Monday through Sunday, from 02:00 to 05:00 local time in the time zone of the data center that hosts the service. Maintenance in this window doesn't count as downtime.

## What does not count as downtime

Sevalla decides at its discretion whether one of these applies:

* Maintenance during the maintenance period.
* Emergency maintenance, at any time.
* Scheduled outages.
* Force majeure: natural disasters, war, government action such as sanctions or embargoes, labor disputes, power failures, outages of external service providers, and other events Sevalla can't reasonably anticipate, prevent or control.
* Traffic, requests or processes that exceed what the service, your plan or the platform can handle. See [Scaling](/applications/scaling).
* Your breach of the Terms of Service or other policies that apply to you.
* Problems with your own machines' access.
* Your code, configuration or changes, including setting up a service so that it goes down when another one does.
* Changes to the services by anyone other than Sevalla.

## SLA credits

You get SLA credits when downtime in a billing period goes over the guarantee: more than 43 minutes at 99.9%, or more than 4 minutes at 99.99%.

**Applications and databases.** The credit is twenty times the part of your monthly subscription value that relates to the affected applications and databases. The monthly subscription value is the amount invoiced in the billing period for each application or database, without add-ons, overages, build time, bandwidth or migration fees.

**Static sites.** The credit is a percentage of the monthly subscription value, scaled by the share of your live static sites that went down:

| Downtime at 99.9% | Downtime at 99.99% | Credit |
| - | - | - |
| 43 to 59 minutes | 4 to 59 minutes | 5% × monthly subscription value × (affected sites / live sites) |
| 60 to 119 minutes | 60 to 119 minutes | 10% × monthly subscription value × (affected sites / live sites) |
| 120 to 179 minutes | 120 to 179 minutes | 15% × monthly subscription value × (affected sites / live sites) |
| 180 to 239 minutes | 180 to 239 minutes | 20% × monthly subscription value × (affected sites / live sites) |

Limits on every credit:

* Credits for a month never exceed that month's monthly subscription value.
* Credits offset eligible fees on your plan. They have no cash value, can't be refunded, sold or transferred, and expire when your plan ends.
* Credits are your only remedy when Sevalla misses the uptime guarantee.
* If you downgrade from a plan with a guarantee above 99.9%, your guarantee can return to 99.9%.

## Claim an SLA credit

Claim a credit in writing, through the support chat, within 30 days of the downtime. After 30 days you lose the right to that credit.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the support chat">
    In the dashboard, open the **Help** menu and click **Chat with support**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Request the credit">
    Ask for an SLA credit and say which services were down and when (dates and times, with the time zone).
  </Step>
</Steps>
