The Analytics tab charts how an application uses its resources and how it serves traffic. Compute shows CPU, memory and instance counts for each web process and background worker. Web shows the HTTP traffic to the application’s domains, from its access logs: requests, response times, status codes, bandwidth, countries and the busiest and slowest paths.

Open the Analytics tab

In the sidebar, click Applications, then click the application. Click the Analytics tab.

Pick the view and range

Choose Compute or Web, then pick a time range.
The time range picker offers Last 1 hour (the default), Last 6 hours, Last 12 hours, Last 1 day, Last 2 days, Last 4 days, Last 7 days, Last 14 days and Last 30 days, or a custom start and end within the last 60 days. With a preset, a Live indicator shows that the charts move forward on their own. Every chart works the same way:
  • Hover a chart to see its values; the other charts on the page show the same moment.
  • Drag across a chart to zoom every chart into that period.
  • Click View as table on a chart to read its data as a table.
  • A chart that fails to load shows Try again; the others keep working.
The view, range, process and filters are part of the page’s URL, so a copied link opens the same view.

Compute

Compute covers web processes and background workers. Cron jobs and jobs report no usage here; an application with only those shows No processes to measure.

Pick the process at the top; the web process is selected first. Show limit (on by default) draws the process size’s limit on the CPU and memory charts. A gap in a chart means no data for that time, for example while the process wasn’t running. A process that keeps reaching its memory limit restarts with exit code 137; give it a larger size. A process that stays near 100 % CPU is throttled; give it a larger size or more instances.

Filter web analytics

Filters apply to every chart in Web. Click Add filter, pick a Field and a Condition, enter or pick a Value, and click Apply filter. Each applied filter shows above the charts; click its remove button to drop it. Every field offers the conditions equals and does not equal. Text fields (Source IP, Path, User agent) add contains, does not contain, starts with, does not start with, ends with and does not end with; Status code adds greater than or equals and less than or equals.
