Import and export MariaDB

Before you begin

• Create the database on Sevalla first, on the same MariaDB version as the source or a newer one. See Create a database.
• Enable the external connection. If IP restrictions are on, allow your IP address.
• Install MariaDB’s client tools (mariadb-dump and mariadb), at least as new as the database’s version. Older MariaDB releases name them mysqldump and mysql; the options are the same. Get them from mariadb.org/download: on macOS brew install mariadb, on Debian or Ubuntu the mariadb-client package from the MariaDB repository, on Windows the MariaDB installer.
• Copy the Host, Port, Database, User and Password from the database’s Overview tab, under Connection > External. See Find the connection details.

Export a database

mariadb-dump --host=orders-db-k3j4h.ext.sevalla.app --port=20145 \

Import a database

Restore a dump backup
