The acceptable use policy in section 6 of the Terms of Service of Kinsta Inc., which operates Sevalla, sets what you can host and do on Sevalla. This page summarizes the rules people ask about most. The Terms of Service are the binding text.

Prohibited content

Content you host on Sevalla, in any application, database, static site or bucket, must not:
  • Infringe a patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret, privacy right or other intellectual property right.
  • Be defamatory, fraudulent, false, misleading or deceptive.
  • Be or enable spam, phishing, chain letters, pyramid schemes or other malicious activity.
  • Be pornographic, sexually obscene, sexually exploitative of children, or otherwise sexually explicit.
  • Promote terrorism, violence, discrimination, bigotry, racism, hatred, harassment, prostitution, human trafficking, or harm against any person or group.
Kinsta decides in its reasonable discretion whether content breaks these rules, and can alter or remove it, or refuse to display it. In appropriate circumstances, accounts of repeat infringers are terminated under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

Prohibited activity

You can’t use Sevalla to:
  • Access or tamper with non-public parts of Sevalla, test the vulnerability of its systems, or get around its security or authentication.
  • Copy, decompile, reverse engineer or try to derive the source code of any part of Sevalla.
  • Interrupt, damage or limit Sevalla’s services.
  • Host, upload or send malware, viruses or other malicious code.
  • Run open proxies, Internet Relay Chat (IRC) or cryptocurrency mining, or anything else the platform isn’t offered for.
  • Overburden the servers, CPUs or other resources behind the services.
  • Load test, in any form.
Security and penetration tests of your own applications are allowed under the rules in Test the security of your application. If your code spreads malicious activity, cooperate with Kinsta to isolate and remove it.

Restricted countries

You can’t register for or use Sevalla, or use it for or on behalf of someone else, if you’re:
  • Located in, under the control of, or a national or resident of a country under a United States embargo, including Iran, Syria, Cuba, North Korea and the Russian Federation, or the Crimea, Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR) or Luhansk People’s Republic (LNR) regions of Ukraine.
  • Subject to sanctions by the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United Nations or any other applicable government or international body.
You also agree to use Sevalla in line with the laws that apply to you, including trade sanctions and export control laws.

.ru domains

You can’t add a custom domain that ends in .ru to an application, static site or load balancer. The dashboard shows .ru domain names are not supported.

When the rules are broken

Kinsta makes commercially reasonable efforts to tell you why it suspended your use, and ends the suspension once the cause is resolved.

Ask before you host

If you’re not sure whether something can run on Sevalla, contact support with the details of your content or workload, and the team tells you whether it’s allowed.
